We Have an Announcement

It is with enthusiasm that the Greater Watertown – North Country Chamber of Commerce announces the return of two members of their team: Karl Ahlheim, Director of Membership and Jessica Piatt Walczyk, Director of Marketing.

Like many in our community, the chamber of commerce had to make the difficult decision to reduce staff with the hope of returning to our full capacity quickly as possible. Over the last few months our President and CEO, Kylie S. Peck along with our North Country Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) Program Manager, Kayla Perry have done an incredible job of maintaining a business as usual attitude with limited resources and timeAs a result, the GWNC Chamber of Commerce was able to serve local businesses at a time when support was critically needed. Both their hard work and suburb performances are admirable.

Increasing Our Capacity to Serve

Both Karl and Jessica have officially returned to their roles at the Greater Watertown – North Country Chamber of Commerce in a part time capacity. This means we can increase our efforts as a team to better serve the businesses of the greater Watertown area and our community during this unprecedented time. With the effort to reopen New York State and the support of our Board of Directors, now is the ideal time to increase our capacity for the benefit of our region.

Thoughts from the Team

“I am excited to get back to business,” Karl Ahlheim, Director of Membership explained. “Now more than ever our members need a champion for commerce and an advocate for our region.”

Our Director of Marketing is also excited, particularly to use our social media platforms to highlight sustaining members, local business, the Watertown Farm and Craft Market as well as other chamber initiatives. “Returning to work means having the opportunity to advance the chambers efforts to propel business in Northern New York.” Jessica Piatt Walczyk, Director of Marketing.

Kylie S. Peck, President and CEO of the Greater Watertown – North Country Chamber of Commerce says, “Having both Karl and Jessica back reflects our ability to rebound from the COVID-19 setbacks not only as an organization but as a community. I am confident that their abilities will strengthen our efforts as a chamber to promote and support our members during these trying times.”
